Meal with Angie

The elementary staff went out to eat with Angie before she left for Kenya. Around the table from left: Shelly, Angie, Deb, Brenda, Kristina, Elly, Sara, Song Ju, Nancy, and Sue.

We went to The Barn Restaurant in Smithville.

We miss you, Angie! Thanks for your 2 1/2 years with us!

art lessons

In December, the elementary students displayed written work about the country they studied using a person they colored, typical to the country dress.

In art, they had to choose something that was specific to their country to draw. When it was finished, we added the window pieces to symbolize a "window to their country".

Egypt

Switzerland

Sweden

My 3rd & 4th grade classes did these two Van Gogh prints. Each student received a square to copy and enlarge. When we put them together, they replicated Starry Night.

Some of these squares were well done and others. . .well, they tried. Thanks to Christa for the idea!

Grades 1 & 2 painted a winter background and then tore paper for the snowman.

These are Grades 3 & 4 Winter Silhouettes with water colors.

Christmas 08

Getting into the holiday spirit!

Puzzle time--notice it's a Norman Rockwell.

Grandma & Grandpa Taylor

Grandpa Taylor made each of the grandchildren a clock.

Christmas breakfast of waffles and lots of other goodies

Laura got reindeer socks for them.

Family photo around the Christmas tree. We take one every year.

Scott (and Christa) washing dishes at Grandpa Neuenschwander's birthday party.

Siblings picture with Dad & Bonnie

Siblings and spouses

I wonder where the rest of us learned to be ornery?

This is one of my favorite holiday photo! Look at Ron & Ang!!!
Donna & I were trying to play Guitar Hero and obviously were not doing very well. We probably got boo-ed off the stage at this point.

Dad at his 80th birthday party.

Cookie Day 08

Neuenschwander Cookie Day always includes dad making brown bobbies.

Donna, Mattie & Kayla decorating the brown bobbies. A little assistance was needed to make sure we had enough sprinkles left for other cookies! In the eyes of the little ones, the more sprinkles, the prettier they are!

Angela & Kayla making the best cookies of the day, raisin filled. Yum!

Emma, Briana, & Marieda trying out the cookies before baking.

Moms and their girls--training them right! (aprons and all)

Look what I can do! Add enough flour and you can pick them up without breaking!

Christa & Donna -- looks like the table is getting fuller!

Almost the end of the day--getting a picture before nap time.
Great day! And there seems to be enough cookies for everyone.
