art lessons

In December, the elementary students displayed written work about the country they studied using a person they colored, typical to the country dress.

In art, they had to choose something that was specific to their country to draw. When it was finished, we added the window pieces to symbolize a "window to their country".

Egypt

Switzerland

Sweden

My 3rd & 4th grade classes did these two Van Gogh prints. Each student received a square to copy and enlarge. When we put them together, they replicated Starry Night.

Some of these squares were well done and others. . .well, they tried. Thanks to Christa for the idea!

Grades 1 & 2 painted a winter background and then tore paper for the snowman.

These are Grades 3 & 4 Winter Silhouettes with water colors.

Thanks for posting the artwork-- makes me wish, just a little, that I was teaching little kids again. :) Such cute stuff.

The art pictures are so awesome! Just looking at them takes some stress away from my insides. May I be a teacher instead of what I'm doing????
