Ed & I visited a Norman Rockwell show in Columbus and yes, we drove down there just to see the art work! This is a self-portrait he did that is make into 3-D display.

Another self-portrait made 3-D.

All these 3-D displays are all made from art prints painted by Rockwell.

Man, is he ever excited that he has to practice trumpet!

You better be nice!

I love this picture. Kids made the snowman to look like this old man.

All these paintings were done for Saturday Evening Post covers.

The displays were clever in how they used the 3-D art as part of the surroundings.

In the full painting, this girl is walking past boys skinny dipping in the river.

Rockwell often used neighbors and friends to pose for him. Once cameras were available, he would take their pictures so they didn't have to pose so long. He also used himself in
many pictures. I wish all of you could have seen this display!
If you need more pictures, let me know! :)

So cool! I've seen a bunch of his famous works, but some of the pictures you posted I haven't seen before. How long is the display in Columbus? I'm sure it was good! And yes, I'd like to see more picts sometime =)
wow! that looks like a cool place. it's fun recognizing some of his paintings turned into sculptures. Thanks for sharing! And thanks for reviving your blog after a looooong hiatus. ;)
It has been a loooooong time! I was wondering how long it would take for people to realize I put new pics up. Thought I had trained everyone to ignore me since it took so long. Glad you noticed!
That would've been neat to see! I'm sure it was a worthwhile trip! And yes, I've been debating about texting you and tell you it's time to get off that January blog......
