Here are some of my latest art projects from my school kids.

All these pictures are from my first and second graders.
These flowers look really bright in the hallway right now. I think I should have used a flash for these.

This is my favorite. The students drew mammals in their habitats to go along with their science lessons.

The students outlined their animals with marker, then they painted the whole picture with q-tip dots, an art style called pointillism. This was difficult for them because they wanted to paint everything smoothly. I love to push them out of their comfort zones.

This one is Kayla Geiser's jack-a-lope in the desert.

Prairie dog in the mountains.

As a filler project while others were finishing projects, some of the students created spring animals using hand prints with paint.

Cool projects! Tomorrow we're starting a stained-glass project with construction paper and tissue paper-- kind of a brainless one for a break from their artist research projects. After that we're going to do a gridded self-portrait pointillism project. One cool trick I learned from another teacher is to have them "draw/dot" it upside down so they don't see the picture for what it is but instead look at changes in value. I hope it turns out okay! Thanks for sharing the fun art projects!

Awesome art! Kids art is my favorite. I think I'll be an elementary art teacher in my next life---but only kids who actually want to be in the class will be allowed. Read--no behavior problems because they'll all LOVE it so much.
