Time to put some art projects up again.

For these color wheels, the students had to draw a design, then repeat it with all 6 colors.

They had to arrange it in the proper order to make the color wheel.

It was very interesting to see the variety.

These are first & second grade symmetrical imaginary insects.

I worked with each individual student because I didn't trust all of them to have paint at the same time this early in the year.

The most fun part with this was to watch their eyes when we opened them and saw the bright colors. They were simply delighted!

They chose the shape and colors. I helped them follow directions.

These sunflowers were cut from yellow paper plates. The students had to weave the inside brown yarn to form the centers.

The first project with grades 1 & 2 was bubble painting. Some of you may wonder why I would choose this before I even knew how they would follow directions. I am also asking that question.

It didn't take long to decide that I will work individually and let my assistant take the rest of the class doing something else!

Paint & detergent are mixed and the kids blow in straws to make the bubbles. They put their paper on top of the cup to make these designs.

I only had one student who decided to suck instead of blow and I grabbed it out of her mouth before she got any inside. I was ready!
Again, the kids were delighted with the results and wanted to take them home that day!
